Capdepera

Capdepera is a coastal municipality east of the island of Mallorca. It is a place full of history and tradition. This area was occupied by invading forces due to its strategic importance. The wall was built by King James II in 1300 AD. C. with the objective of protecting its citizens and the maritime routes of the invaders and pirate attacks. At the moment only the original strength of the castle of century XIV is conserved, denominated "Castell de Capdepera", due the stones of the fortifications were used for the construction of houses.

Some of the most recognized festivities in the city are:

Sant Antoni , the medieval market, the Virgen del Carmen and the fiestas of Sant Roc and Sant Bartomeu, which is when is celebrated the "correfocs" night of fire . It is a popular cultural manifestation, in which a group of people disguised or not of demons parade through the streets of the town running, dancing and jumping between fireworks.

On its coast we find some of the most famous coves on the island, such as Cala Rajada, Cala Mesquida or Font de la Cala.

It can be said that Capdepera is the perfect mix between nature, beach, culture and leisure.
